Homemade Playdough Recipe

This has always been my playdough recipe of choice! My son loved this so much! I made a very large batch, and it didn’t cost me a penny to make. Fantastic!

– 2 cups plain flour (all purpose)
– 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
– 1/2 cup salt
– 2 tablespoons cream of tartar
– Up to 1.5 cups boiling water (adding in increments until it feels just right)
– food colouring (optional)
– few drops glycerine (optional- for extra shine!)

How To Make Playdough

1. In a large mixing bowl, mix the flour, salt, cream of tartar and oil. Add food colouring to the boiling water then into the dry ingredients (colour optional)
2. Stir frequently until it becomes a sticky, combined dough. Add the glycerine (optional)
3. Allow it to cool then knead until smooth, a perfect consistency. If it remains a little sticky then add a touch more flour until just right.
4. Store in an airtight container (Or in a Ziploc bag pressed out the air)
