Healthy Banana Bread Recipe

This is the only recipe I have used for banana bread for years. Using this recipe you’ll make an even lower calorie version. A very dense, chewy, moist bread which is mildly sweet and surprisingly satisfying for not having any chocolate in it. Great flavor, my family loves it and oh so easy!

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/8 cup nonfat plain yogurt

  • Prep: 15 m

  • Cook: 1 h 5 m

  • Ready In: 1 h 20 m

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt, stirring with a whisk. In another large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat butter, yogurt, and brown sugar  at medium speed until well blend. The mixture should be noticeably lighter in color. Add the eggs, one at a time, blend well each egg into butter before each next addition. Add mashed bananas and beat until well blended. Pour banana mixture to flour mixture; beat at low speed just until moist. Transfer batter into prepared loaf pan.
  3. Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until a wooden pick inserted into center of loaf comes out clean. Cool 1o minutes in pan, remove from pan onto a wire rack, cool completely.
