French Fries Recipe

 You will definitely love this Fries Recipe. It has beautiful brown and a comfort taste. They brown beautifully and are really tasty with attractive butter flavour.


Serves 6 (serving size: about 3/4 cup)

Total time: 1 Hour, 12 Minutes

2 pounds Yukon gold or red potato, cubed

2 1/2 tablespoons canola oil, divided
3 cups chopped yellow onion
6 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup coarsely chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley


1. Put the potatoes in a microwave-safe dish, and cover with plastic wrap. Cook in the microwave at high power for 5 minutes. Uncover and cool slightly.

2. Over medium heat, heat a large skillet,  add 1 1/2 tablespoons oil to pan; swirl to coat. Add onion and cook about 20 minutes or until golden brown and tender, stirring occasionally. Add garlic, cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Transfer onion mixture into a bowl. Clean the pan with paper towels.

3. Add the remaining 1 tablespoon oil and butter to pan, turn the heat to medium-high and swirl to coat. Add potato, and cook for 4 minutes without stirring. Turn potatoes over. Without stirring, cook 5 minutes or until browned. Reduce heat to medium-low; stirring occasionally and cook 10 minutes more or until tender and golden brown,  Remove from heat. Stir in onion mixture, salt, and black pepper; toss. Sprinkle parsley on top.
