Easy Marinara Sauce Recipe

This is my perfect, easy go-to Marinara Sauce. Very quick, delilious and easy to make and you have everything on hand!

Servings: 6

Serving Size: 1/2 cup


  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 small bay leaf
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh basil
  • salt and fresh pepper to taste


1. Heat olive oil in a medium pot over medium high heat. Add garlic and saute until fragrant, stir frequently to not to burn.

2. Add crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, oregano, and bay leaf. Stir to combine and reduce heat to medium-low. Cover and let the sauce simmer about 15 – 20 minutes or until thickened and the oil is a deep orange on the surface.

3. Remove from heat and add fresh basil. Season with salt and pepper if needed. Serve hot or store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Freeze for up to 3 months.
